Dates of Promotion

Remote Year Working Dead Photo Contest begins at 12:00pm Pacific Standard Time (PST) on Friday, July 1, 2016 and ends at 11:59pm Pacific Standard Time (PST) on Sunday, July 31, 2016.




To apply, you must be 23 years of age or older and have a mobile phone or other wireless or electronic device that supports the Instagram application and has a digital camera feature. You must have an Instagram account and your account may not be in the “private” mode.


How to Apply

Between July 1, 2016 and July 30, 2016, you must follow @RemoteYear on Instagram and upload photos of the worst workspaces. All submissions must also include the hashtag #GoRemote, and include a short description about why he/she wants to go remote.

On August 1, 2016, Remote Year will select 50 finalists. The 50 finalists will be notified via Instagram direct message. If you are selected as a finalist, you must complete a Remote Year application. You may also be required to participate in an interview via telephone, Skype, or other means. If you fail to respond to your finalist notice within two days, you may be disqualified.

Addition Requirements for Submissions

(a) Your photos must not infringe third-party rights by including, for example, images of buildings or other structures not in the public domain, or by including the copyrights, trademarks, or logos. No names and/or likenesses of any persons other than you may be included in your photos.

(b) The photos must be your original creation. Modifying, enhancing or altering a third-party’s preexisting work does not qualify as your original creation.

(c) You hereby release Instagram, Facebook and Twitter from any liability related to this search and acknowledge that the search is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram, Facebook or Twitter.

Remote Year may disqualify any applicant in it sole discretion, including but not limited to if such applicant submits a photo(s) or information that Remote Year deems, in its sole discretion, to be offensive, inappropriate, or obscene in any way.
