"Remote Year took my entire life and turned it upside-down (in the best way). There’s no such thing as a “typical 9-to-5” here. Every day, I learned more about the world and its people. Every day brought something new: a conversation with a friendly local, bizarre cuisine, cozy workspace in a hidden cafe, skydiving trip before the workday started(!). If I could rewind and live the whole thing again, I’d do it in a heartbeat.”

JOIN US FOR AN UNFORGETTABLE MONTH IN GUATEMALA

When you join the Tikal program and community, you'll take part in a powerful month traveling through Antigua, Guatemala - one of the most beautiful and well-preserved colonial cities in Latin America. Surrounded by stunning views of volcanoes and colonial ruins, here you'll find lush nature, ancient history, and friendly locals around every beautiful corner.

Named after Tikal, an ancient city once home to one of the most powerful kingdoms of the Maya civilization, this program lets you live like a local in Guatemala with a community of remote professionals eager to step out of their comfort zone and embark on one of the most memorable months of their life.

Mollie - RY Polaris Program

“Best experience of my life! Don’t wait to sign up for it, most of your hesitations aren’t even real issues that you’ll experience and if they are - remember, it’s an adventure! You will make some of the deepest friendships, share unforgettable experiences, and even grow professionally.”
Elayne - RY Shoshin Program
Author & Founder
“If you’re looking for a travel experience unlike anything else you’ve done before, this is it. It would make whatever you’re doing better: the business, your job. It gives you such an incredible perspective. My work has evolved just from this experience.”
Erin - RY Bourdain Program
Content Manager
“Every day I put my best foot forward, following a path without really knowing where it will lead, sometimes feeling lost, often feeling curious. But having these people by my side helps me realize that every step I take is a part of my story, a part of realizing who I am. The end goal is always worth the view. Lucky to get there with this group.”
Tasha - RY Kanyini Program

“I remember the days I prayed for things I have now. While I still have a long way to go, I never thought I'd be working remotely and seeing the world at this stage in my life. I'm finally happy with where I am and where I am going."
Cynthia - RY Zenith Program

“Remote Year is a platform that provides the basics to take you on an amazing journey. Recognizing your own personal limitations and learning to grow outside those limitations when you’re ready is the power of the platform. Along the way, you meet amazing people, have incredible experiences, and make new friends.”
Kelsey- RY Alba Program

“I took a massive step outside my comfort zone. I'm a really introverted person, and meeting all the different, amazing people in the group gave me even more confidence to speak my truth and be 100% myself.”
Justin - RY Balboa Program

“I've spent the last year of my life living out a suitcase and traveling to over 20 countries with a group of 45 amazing individuals. I've made countless memories and gotten to see places I couldn't have even imagined. BUT, after a year of travel... I've realized that traveling is often not about the places. Traveling is about the people.”

“This is going to be one of the best cities on your itinerary. Even if it's your month 12 make sure you get out and explore. Eat all the tacos, drink all the mezcal margaritas, and don't wait till the end of the month to discover the deliciousness that is chicarron de queso.”

“Mexico City is an awesome place with so many fun things to do and see - and the best food to eat. There were also loads of RY citizens in town, which can make it even more fun. I enjoyed going to the wrestling, pyramids, zoo, Chapultepec Park, and the Spanish lessons."

“THIS CITY WILL SURPRISE + DELIGHT YOU! My friends + family were not super stoked on Colombia, and I think I let some of that get in my head before arriving (the history & former reputation). But this is one of the COOLEST places I've ever been, and I already can't wait to come back.”
