The 4-month Cruz program in Latin America will take you on a journey of personal and professional discovery. The program is aptly named after Celia Cruz, the "queen of salsa", who brought Afro-Cuban music to the world stage as a black woman and challenged racism and sexism in her efforts to unify the world, break barriers, and bring joy through her music. Embark on a journey through beautiful Latin America, a region full of diverse cultures, welcoming communities, and transformative experiences.
During your Rivera journey, you’ll experience the best of Latin America while visiting four culturally-rich and unique destinations.
You’ll start your Cruz program journey in Antigua, Guatemala, a town with a mix of beautiful Spanish colonial architecture, ancient ruins, and volcanoes you have to see to believe.
Then continue to Mexico City, a metropolis abundant with history, unbelievable food, stunning green parks, and a burgeoning arts scene that is influential all over the world.
Next up, travel to Medellin, Colombia, the “city of eternal spring” where lush green landscapes are around every corner and the aromatic smell of coffee fills the air.
Finally, you’ll finish your journey in Lima, Peru, a coastal city that is currently one of the most famous culinary destinations in the world. Explore where deserts, mountains, and the Pacific Ocean collide to cap off your life-changing experience.
You will be staying in comfortable private bedrooms in a mix of 2-3 bedroom apartments or houses as well as hotels. In some destinations, you may even be staying in a private, one-bed hotel room. All Remote Year accommodation is located in the top neighborhoods that offer a mix of local and international flavors, and are always within walking distance from the workspace. You’ll love the great location, culturally-rich atmosphere, and easy access to countless activities. There may be options to upgrade to a private apartment after booking.
You are responsible for your flight to the Remote Year destination city and your flight out from the destination. You are also responsible for all visas and travel insurance needed. Meals are also not included.

Visitors must be approved by the Program Leader and roommates. When they can be accommodated, visitors can stay in Remote Year accommodations for a maximum of 3 nights of any single month.
