On our 1-month Khoisan program, you will experience life like a local in Cape Town with a community of remote professionals eager to understand the world, step out of their comfort zone, and embark on one of the most memorable months of their life.
Respectfully named after the Khoisan people, this program honors the non-Bantu indigenous people of South Africa. The indigenous Khoisan people have played a major role in shaping the history and diversity of South Africa. As you discover and explore the natural beauty and abundant culture in Cape Town, you will connect with this city’s extensive history.
On our Cruz Learn & Travel program, you will enhance your Spanish skills while also having the time to pursue professional goals and explore Latin America.

This "Mother City" is located at the southern tip of the African continent and is home to friendly locals eager to share their favorite hidden gems and spirit for adventure. With acclaimed vineyards, unparalleled natural wonders, and three hikeable, majestic mountains offering sweeping views of this incredible city, you’ll have plenty to explore as you live, work, and play in Cape Town. Despite South Africa’s complex and storied history, you'll find a city full of people that remain largely optimistic and hopeful that their future will outshine their past.
You will be staying in spacious, private bedrooms in 2-3 bedroom apartments within walking distance from the workspace. You’ll love the great location, culturally-rich atmosphere, and easy access to countless activities.
There may be options to upgrade to a private apartment after booking.
You are responsible for your flight to the Remote Year destination city and your flight out from the destination. You are also responsible for all visas and travel insurance needed. Meals are also not included.
Program sizes always vary, but we usually have between 25-40 people on each program.
Significant Other: Yes, we’d love to have your significant other sign up for the program too! If you are sharing a bedroom, you will both receive 20% off each monthly fee. After you pay your down payment, just send us a message here and we’ll send you discounted invoices,
Pets: We are not able to support pets on programs currently, but we are going to do our best to continue exploring this option and will update you in the future if it becomes viable.
The full policy around visitors in Remote Year accommodations varies per destination, accommodation, and the preferences of your roommate(s) (if you have one or more). The comfort and space for your visitor will vary greatly by accommodation, so it will be up to you to determine if your living space is sufficient for your visitor. Visitors must be approved by the Program Leader and roommates. When they can be accommodated, visitors can stay in Remote Year accommodations for a maximum of 3 nights of any single month.
We will be doing pickups from the airport of your first destination at a few scheduled windows on launch day. We will share exact times during the onboarding process, but expect the window to be around 10am - 4pm.
Yes, after booking, you’ll receive an Onboarding survey to indicate your living preferences, food restrictions, and allergies.
Yes, you will always have wifi and workspace access.
