Our Tandava program is respectfully named for the Ananda Tandava, a sacred and divine dance full of bliss and joy. It is during this dance that the Hindu Lord Shiva reveals the purest aspect of his being.

Your Tandava journey begins in historic Hanoi, Vietnam, a city famous for its centuries-old architecture and Southeast Asian, Chinese, and French influences. Spend your days navigating the narrow streets of the Old Quarter, visiting ancient lakeside pagodas, or shopping at the sprawling Đồng Xuân Market.
Next, you will venture to enchanting Chiang Mai, a city set in mountainous Northern Thailand. Discover elaborate temples, stroll along the peaceful riverside, or escape the city to hike up Doi Inthanon for sweeping panoramic views.
The adventure continues in Bali, Indonesia, a mesmerizing island that offers a perfect mix of exploration and relaxation. Whether you see yourself hiking an active volcano, wandering among the terraced rice paddies, or sampling scintillating local curries after a trip to one of the island’s stunning sandy beaches, you’re sure to love this unforgettable destination.
Finally, you will journey to Osaka, Japan, a bustling port city where modern life, delicious street food, and contemporary architecture await you. Enjoy breathtaking views from the city’s 16th-century castle, marvel at the historic Sumiyoshi Grand Shrine, or visit beautiful local parks famous for their cherry blossom trees.
You will be staying in comfortable private bedrooms in a mix of 2-3 bedroom apartments or houses as well as hotels. In some destinations, you may even be staying in a private, one-bed hotel room.
All Remote Year accommodations are located in top neighborhoods that offer a mix of local and international flavors, and are always within walking distance from the workspace. You’ll love the great location, culturally-rich atmosphere, and easy access to countless activities.
There may be options to upgrade to a private apartment after booking.
You are responsible for your flight to the Remote Year destination city and your flight out from the destination. You are also responsible for all visas and travel insurance needed. Meals are also not included.
Program sizes always vary, but we usually have between 25-40 people on each program.
Significant Other: Yes, we’d love to have your significant other sign up for the program too! If you are sharing a bedroom, you will both receive 20% off each monthly fee. After you pay your down payment, just send us a message here and we’ll send you discounted invoices,
Pets: We are not able to support pets on programs currently, but we are going to do our best to continue exploring this option and will update you in the future if it becomes viable.
The full policy around visitors in Remote Year accommodations varies per destination, accommodation, and the preferences of your roommate(s) (if you have one or more). The comfort and space for your visitor will vary greatly by accommodation, so it will be up to you to determine if your living space is sufficient for your visitor. Visitors must be approved by the Program Leader and roommates. When they can be accommodated, visitors can stay in Remote Year accommodations for a maximum of 3 nights of any single month.
We will be doing pickups from the airport of your first destination at a few scheduled windows on launch day. We will share exact times during the onboarding process, but expect the window to be around 10am - 4pm.
Yes, after booking, you’ll receive an Onboarding survey to indicate your living preferences, food restrictions, and allergies.
